"Twin Paradox Meltdown" is a cybernetic jewel, running an assembly language program on a Motorola single chip microcomputer, to control the configuration of the LCD segments in real time. There are 16 segments that are in constant apparent motion, sometimes very quick. The patterns can be changed by changing the software, forever severing the identification of jewelry with hardware. The software is modular, with different modules being selected with the IRQ switch, to present varying visual effects.

The LCD has been optimized to show birefringent color.
